Investigators say the man was shot at on Antoine around midnight before crashing his car near the Northwest Freeway.
The victim knocked down a couple of metal street pole signs before smashing into the sign of a Shell gas station. Rescue crews used the Jaws of Life to pull him out and he was taken to the hospital.
Authorities are still looking for the gunman who shot the victim.
