A driver had to be rescued after his car flipped on its side last night in southwest Houston.

Police say the driver lost control on Westheimer near Kirby, hit a curb, went airborne and landed on the passenger's side of the car.

Rescuers peeled off the roof to pull the driver out. A witness says the driver was conscious and talking after the crash.

The driver was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for his injuries.
