Whoever broke into the home of John Velardo and his family in Painesville Friday afternoon took two televisions, an Xbox game system, a laptop -- and at least $300 in freshly purchased Christmas gifts.
Velardo tells WJW-TV he's particularly disgusted that the thieves stole toys out of the toy box in his son's bedroom. He says that's heartless.
A neighbor says she saw two men putting a big-screen TV into a blue-green SUV or van on Friday but thought someone from the family was home and allowed the television to be taken.
