It happened around 9:45pm on Bauman at Berry in north Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, a two-officer unit was responding a shooting call. They were running fast down Berry with lights on when a commercial flat-bed truck tried to turn in front of the officers, investigators said.
The patrol car slammed into the side of the truck.
Officials said the driver of the patrol car was taken to an area hospital with cuts to his hands.
According to emergency responders at the scene, the passenger officer was pinned in the vehicle. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, injuries -- possibly a broken hip.
The officers' names were not released.
The driver of the truck was not hurt. He was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
