Texans skidding after strong start

HOUSTON

Mario Williams is out for the year, quarterback Matt Schaub is hurting, and the running game is sputtering. Most significantly, the Texans (3-3) have lost two in a row heading into a pivotal divisional matchup in Tennessee (3-2).

Schaub underwent an MRI exam on Monday, and coach Gary Kubiak says he has a chest bruise and a sore hip. Schaub played in Sunday's 29-14 loss in Baltimore with a sore throwing shoulder. Kubiak says Schaub is "just beat up" and will play in Nashville this weekend.

Kubiak is hoping star receiver Andre Johnson can return this week after missing two games with a right hamstring injury. He says Johnson has improved since he was injured in Week 4.
