More than $1 million in cocaine found at house

BROWNSVILLE, TX

Sheriff Omar Lucio said Tuesday that two people were arrested, each charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He says that while conducting surveillance at the house, officers on Sunday saw a man enter the home with a duffel bag. Officers then asked permission to search the home in the Cameron Park area near Brownsville.

The Brownsville Herald reports that Lucio said vehicles coming in and out of the home, but only staying a short time, led investigators to suspect it was a stash house.

Lucio says cocaine is confiscated with less frequency in the area than other drugs, with marijuana being the most common.
