It happened around 2:30am on Bering Dr. at Doliver Dr.
A Chevrolet Camaro was seen speeding southbound on Bering by an off-duty Houston Police Department officer. Officials said the car was possibly traveling at 80mph in a 30-mph zone.
Police said the driver lost control and went up the curb on the right side, smashing into a light pole and then a brick fence.
The female driver and her male passenger both died at the scene. The male passenger was ejected from the car.
Their identities have not been released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
