Sikorsky Support Services Inc., a subsidiary of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., has notified the Texas Workforce Commission that its jobs will end Oct. 31, when the maintenance and logistics contract expires. The work involves T-34, T-44 and T-6 aircraft.
Company spokesman Paul Jackson says the Navy decided it would continue the work with a different contractor.
Federal records show the new contract was awarded last month to Mississippi-based L-3 Communications Vertex Aerospace. The contract is worth $452 million for work at several bases, including Corpus Christi.
The Corpus Christi Caller-Times (http://bit.ly/otgPLB ) reported Thursday that it's not clear whether the current jobs will transfer to L-3.
Company representatives have declined comment.
