It happened around 9pm Saturday on Space Center Blvd. near Pearhaven.
Houston police say the woman was speeding northbound on Space Center Blvd. when she lost control of her Toyota Sequoia SUV.
The vehicle veered to the left, crossing over the grassy median and into the opposite lane before flipping on its side and hitting a concrete wall.
The SUV rolled on its roof, causing it to collapse. Investigators say the woman was trapped inside and died at the scene.
Space Center Blvd. was closed both directions for about six hours while police investigated.
According to officials, the medical examiner will have to determine whether alcohol or a medical condition played a role in the crash.
