The chase started around 4:30am. At this point, it's not known why the chase started or why the driver wouldn't stop.
The pursuit began along the South Freeway south of downtown. It didn't end for nearly 30 minutes at County Fair and Imperial Valley, where the driver was arrested.
The suspect's tires were spiked and he had driven the vehicle down to the axles.
