It happened around midnight on Cypresswood near Texas 249.
Witnesses say a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling west on Cypresswood at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.
The truck hit the median and rolled several times. The driver -- who was in his 50s -- was ejected and died at the scene, officials said.
The pickup landed upright and was still in gear. The truck was going around in circles in the field until a witness managed to jump in and stop it.
