Registered sex offender accused of exposing self to kids

At 7:45pm Monday, Richmond Police say they were called to the Lamar Park Apartments located at 1800 FM 1640 in regards to a man who was seen exposing himself to children.

After an investigation, authorities say 25-year-old Ronard Shorter, a registered sex offender from Eagle Lake, was standing between two of the buildings in the complex when he exposed himself to three children who were playing outside.

Police say the children ran inside to tell their father about the incident. The father ran outside and followed Shorter to another apartment in the complex which was later discovered to be a relative Shorter was visiting.

Officers say they found Shorter in the relative's apartment and he was arrested and charged with indecency with a child.

Shorter was transported to the Fort Bend County Jail where he is awaiting bond.
