Man accused of shooting acquaintance while partying

HOUSTON

Christian Meza, 19, is charged with murder in the death of Daniel Pachuco. According to court documents, police say an apartment resident says he, Meza, Pachuco, and two other people were drinking beer, smoking pot and watching movies in his apartment at the Aberdeen Apartments in the 9900 block of Richmond around 9pm on July 10. The resident says Meza brought out a .38 revolver and showed it off.

After it was passed around, the resident says Pachuco loaded the gun with two or three bullets in front of everyone. Court documents state the resident says Meza then walked over to Pachuco, placed the gun to the back of his head and pulled the trigger. Pachuco was struck once in the head.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences stated Pachuco died from a gunshot wound to the head and that the cause of death was homicide.

Meza's bond is set at $100,000.
