21 passengers sue US over Continental crash

HOUSTON

Back in 2008, a flight taking off from Denver to Houston slid off the runway and caught fire. Several passengers were injured.

The lawsuit claims air traffic controllers broke government rules when clearing the plane for takeoff in high winds.

The pilot told investigators a massive gust of wind blew the plane off the runway.
