Man drowns in Brazos River

HEMPSTEAD, TX According to the Austin County Sheriff's Office, the 20-year-old was swimming in the river near FM 159 south of Hempstead with five to six friends, when he went missing at around 4:15pm.

That swimmer's body was located at 7:45pm.

At this point, we don't know the circumstances surrounding the drowning. His identity hasn't been released.
