Man convicted in car rim slaying trial

HOUSTON

A jury today reached the decision in the case against Teddrick Batiste. Prosecutors say he murdered Horace Holiday during a carjacking at a gas station in northeast Harris County in April 2009.

Batiste, 23, was caught driving Holiday's stolen Cadillac. He confessed that he stole the vehicle because he wanted to sell the rims.

The punishment phase gets underway on Monday. He could get the death penalty.
