Slick roads being blamed for several accidents

HOUSTON There was a major backup on I-10 at the North Freeway interchange due to a jack-knifed 18-wheeler. Investigators say the trucker lost control of the rig, slid across four lanes and slammed into a concrete wall.

No one was hurt and no other vehicles were involved. The westbound lanes had to be closed for a couple hours so crews could clean up the diesel that leaked out of the trucks fuel tank.

As crews worked to clear the accident, a driver slammed into a parked squad car at the scene. The driver was hurt and taken to the hospital. The officer was not hurt.

Moments later, the rider of a motorcycle was involved in a minor accident at that same scene.
