Man injured aboard ship rescued by Coast Guard

The Coast Guard rescued an injured man aboard a vessel in the Houston Ship Channel. Watchstanders at Sector Houston-Galveston received a report at 3:25pm that a 20-year-old aboard the Box Voyager, a 750-foot container ship, had injured his hand and needed to be evacuated immediately.

Coast Guard officials responded to the scene via a helicopter and transported the man to UTMB Galveston.

The man's condition is unknown.
