HPD officer accused of theft

HOUSTON

Houston Police Department Spokesperson Kese Smith says Stefan Riha was relieved of duty with pay while on his shift last night. Smith says charges of theft from a person by a public servant are pending for Riha.

The arrest was part of an Internal Affairs Department investigation, according to Smith.

Riha, 29, was sworn in April 2007, and he works in the Midwest division as a patrol officer in southwest Houston.
