Sketch released of liquor store robber

HOUSTON The crime happened at Rice Discount Liquor in the 5100 block of Bissonnet shortly before 8pm on February 21. Police say a man jumped over the counter, produced a pistol and immediately confronted the cashier, demanding that she open the register.

The clerk was hit twice in the head by the suspect, causing minor injuries.

The suspect ran out of the store and fled the area. The business is equipped with a video surveillance camera. However, the suspect was wearing a mask, giving only the build of the suspect and clothing description.

Police say they learned this suspect was spotted by an employee of a nearby business just before the robbery. With the use of a forensic artist, investigators were able to obtain a sketch of the suspect.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens to early twenties and having a skinny build. He was wearing a baggy red hooded jacket and loose pants at the time of the aggravated robbery.
