Court appearance for dad charged with injuring daughter

HOUSTON Five-month-old Indya Ebong died on Friday. Her father Iniubong Ebong remains in jail, charged with injury with a child. But we've learned the charges could be upgraded to capital murder.

Ebong lives in Beaumont, but was spending Thanksgiving weekend with the baby and her mother at her apartment here in Houston. Investigators say he beat the baby girl when she wouldn't stop crying.

He's being held on $200,000 bond.

Funeral services for the infant have been scheduled for this weekend in Louisiana.
