Hewlett Packard will pay more than $16 million to settle claims it showered the Houston Independent School District, as well as Dallas ISD, with gifts in return for being their internet provider. The federally funded contracts paid for connections for the schools and libraries. HP is accused of giving gifts such as Super Bowl tickets and yacht trips to school district members.

The company says the people involved no longer work for HP.
