A local chemical plant will have to pay the u-s and the state of Texas nearly $1.5 million for violating hazardous waste laws. According to court documents, Air Products off Highway 225 failed to properly store and transport sulfuric acid.

Investigators say the plant sent used acid to another plant that wasn't licensed to deal with hazardous materials.
