County sports corp. sues over Reliant Stadium's Ike damage

HOUSTON Ike tore apart several panels off the Reliant Stadium roof when he hit our area in September 2008.

The corporation sued the roof maker, Birdair Inc. out of New York, accusing the company of negligence. The suit says the roof should have withstood the winds generated by Ike.

Birdair filed a document in Harris County Civil Court and denies each and every allegation in the lawsuit. Birdair also placed the blame on an unspecified third party.
