Homeless Houston teen honored by UT exes

HOUSTON Reva Menson was recognized by the local chapter of the Texas Exes. They're a group of some of the Unversity of Texas' alumni.

Menson is homeless. She takes a two-hour bus ride each morning from a motel to Wheatley High School. Despite her struggles, she's number 15 in her senior class.

On Saturday, Menson was sent to Austin to take in a UT Longhorns football game.

"We're just very honored that this type of a student with these types of grades would want go to UT," said Julie Long, president of the Texas Exes' Houston Chapter. "We could not not get involved."

Menson says she's dead-set on attending UT. She hopes to major in sociology and go on to attend law school.
