Authorities seek info on cold case murder

HOUSTON Lydia Hicks was found murdered in the 5900 block of West Point on August 24, 2005. Authorities say she was a hard-working woman with two children who cleaned houses and offices to help support her family.

Investigators do not know why she was in that area and her car was not nearby.

"She was somebody, she wasn't just anybody, who was loved very much. And if anyone, I mean anyone, that knows anything could help us with this," said Mary Davis, the victim's mother.

There were almost no leads in the case.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, charging or arrest of a suspect.
