Major fire damages two houses in SE Houston

The flames that erupted at a southeast Houston home spread to more than one home.

A house in southeast Houston caught on fire Monday afternoon and spread to a nearby house. It happened at a home on Cortelyou at MLK. The flames spread to a neighboring home that was already damaged from a previous fire. Both houses sustained major smoke and fire damage.

The fire was finally tapped out late Monday afternoon. One firefighter was transported to Memorial Hermann for heat exhaustion.
