Interfaith Ministries and Reliant Energy want to make sure the city's seniors are ready for hurricane season. On Tuesday, as Meals on Wheels delivered food, they also delivered a box of non-perishable food to homebound seniors, for them to have in case of an emergency. The box has things like cans of tuna, crackers and freeze dried milk.

Interfaith Ministries delivers the emergency meals every year to help seniors who may not have family close by and in case they lose electricity.

"Some of the seniors we serve don't have any family nearby. They lose electricity and they will just be in their homes, so these boxes help them get through the tough times," said Andrea Fineman of Interfaith Ministries.

Thanks to Reliant Energy's donation, the emergency meals were delivered to more than 4,100 seniors.
