Officer uninjured in possible road rage shooting

An off-duty HPD officer was shot at several times during a possible road rage incident on a freeway in south Houston. The officer pulled over near Interstate 45 and Highway 288 right after the shooting and saw the vehicle was showered with bullets. Four holes were found in the right front passenger door, and another one was discovered on the rear passenger door.

The officer wasn't injured during the shooting.

Homicide detectives are currently interviewing the officer for more details.

It wasn't immediately clear the other driver was aware that a police officer was behind the wheel of the car shot at.
