Little Galleria play area opens for kids

HOUSTON The Little Galleria play area, presented by The University of Texas MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital, is celebrating its grand opening with a week of events featuring interactive activities, food sampling and games provided by local retailers such as LEGO, Build-A-Bear, Nestle Tollhouse and more.

An indoor play area constructed of soft foam material, the Little Galleria features more than 2,000 square feet of custom-made play structures resembling The Galleria, complete with mini-versions of Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Williams Tower.

The play area is located on the Second Level of the Galleria in front of Borders bookstore.

Here is the calendar of this week's events:

  • Tuesday, June 29 - Saturday, July 3:
    Enjoy snacks from Nestle Tollhouse and play with building block kits from LEGO.

  • Wednesday, June 30, 1:00 - 4:00pm:
    Enjoy food and games from Chick-fil-A, play with building block kits from LEGO and enjoy snacks from Nestle Tollhouse.

  • Thursday, July 1, 1:00 - 4:00pm:
    Play with building block kits from LEGO, enjoy snacks from Nestle Tollhouse and visit with Bearemy, the mascot from Build-A-Bear and Duke, the mascot from Crocs.

  • Friday, July 2, 1:00 - 4:00pm:
    Enjoy food and games from Chick-fil-A, play with building block kits from LEGO, enjoy snacks from Nestle Tollhouse and visit with Bearemy, the mascot from Build-A-Bear and Duke, the mascot from Crocs.

  • Saturday, July 3, 1:00 - 4:00pm:
    Visit with representatives from the Houston Dynamos for a chance to win prizes, enjoy snacks from Nestle Tollhouse and visit with Duke, the mascot from Crocs.
