Pedestrian fatally struck by train in Ft. Bend Co.

HOUSTON Detectives with the Ft. Bend Co. Sheriff's Office say the conductor of a train coming from a coal plant in Smithers Lake observed the victim lying on the railroad tracks and sounded the train's horn. The victim did not show any signs of movement and the train struck him before it could be stopped.

The Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy in an attempt to identify the victim as well as determine an exact cause of death.
