There have been reports that we've confirmed with sources close to the University of Houston that Rayner Noble has been let go after 16 seasons as the Cougars' baseball coach. Noble is a Houston native who leaves UH with a 526-388 record. He went to Spring Woods High School and graduated from the University of Houston. The school told him the old "we want to go in another direction" story.

Noble led the Cougars to three Conference USA titles, eight regionals and three super-regionals.

Unfortunately, his last game was a 24-3 loss to Rice in the Conference USA tournament.
