Two principals in the New Caney Independent School District will sleep on the roof of their school to fulfill a promise to their students. Bens Branch Elementary School Principal Dr. Delinda Neal challenged the students to read more than 50 million words this year, and if accomplished, she would spend the night on the roof of the school. Ms. King agreed to head to the roof if the children completed more than 25,000 math objectives.

The principals began their night under the stars on Tuesday around 8am. Students will visit them during the day and bring them lunch. Bens Branch is hosting an evening picnic with music, dancing and food.

Dr. Neal and Ms. King will come down Wednesday morning.
