TX man receives 41-year sentence in kidnapping

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange sentenced Terrance Lynn McGuire late Tuesday for the January 2007 abduction of the girl in Texhoma in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Federal prosecutors announced the sentencing Wednesday.

McGuire pleaded guilty in September to one count of kidnapping and transporting the victim across state lines.

Authorities say the girl was riding her bicycle near her home when McGuire lured her into his car. They say he put a mask over her head, bound her arms, taped her mouth shut and placed her in the car's trunk.

Authorities say he drove to Dumas, Texas, then to Canyon, and the next day drove to a convenience store in Clovis, N.M., where the girl was released.
