Bond raised for man after patrol car theft

HOUSTON Donnie Knight is charged with auto theft and evading arrest. Investigators say early Sunday morning, after a short chase, Knight was arrested and put in the back of a patrol unit. They say he somehow managed to climb into the front of the vehicle and drive away.

The car was later found abandoned. The shotgun in the trunk was missing.

Knight was arrested at a restaurant on Monday, after police received a tip. Police say Knight has not told them the location of the shotgun.

The judge raised Knight's bond to $25,000 for each charge.
