One person was killed in a house fire that broke out early this morning on Colonial at Red Bud on Houston's south side. Fire broke out at the home around 4am. Firefighters arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames and they went into defensive mode.

When firefighters were able to enter the building, they initially gave an all-clear, but then later found the woman's body under the debris of a collapsed roof. A man who also lived in the home was not there at the time.

Firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire. They do say the home had no electricity.
