Pakistani police say a suicide bomber set off explosives hidden under his jacket outside the entrance of Pakistan's navy headquarters today, killing one security guard and wounding 11 other people. Police say a naval official who approached the youth was killed. They say the bomber appeared to be a teenager and detonated his explosives after being stopped as he walked toward the gates of the heavily fortified complex.

Pakistan has been hit by a series of bombings in recent months by Islamist militants.

TV reporters at the scene said damage from the blast appeared to be minimal.
