Stanford Financial CIO goes to trial Monday

HOUSTON Laura Pendergest-Holt is charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Houston financier R. Allen Stanford is accused of running a $7 billion Ponzi scheme. In addition to Pendergest-Holt, Stanford and three other Stanford executives have been indicted.

Pendergest-Holt has pled not guilty and faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
