Child dies after being hit by car

HOUSTON The accident happened around 8:30pm Saturday night at Dew Drop near Sommerall. A man was backing his SUV out of a parking spot in front of a residence when the Devon Osborn, 4, walked behind the SUV and was struck. Devon was knocked to the ground and partially run over by the right rear tire.

When paramedics got to the scene, Devon was conscious and breathing. The four-year-old was then flown to Memorial Hermann by Lifeflight helicoptor. The child died on Sunday from inuries sustained in the accident.

The driver who hit the child stayed at the scene and talked with investigators. Authorities are still investigating.
