Serial bank robbery suspect arrested

SUGAR LAND, TX Abdul Rehman, 45, of Sugar Land, was stopped near State Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 90A after detectives believe he attempted to rob First Bank. The investigation is ongoing; however, Rehman was charged with a robbery at First Community Bank, 2735 Town Center Blvd., on April 18, and another bank in Fort Bend County.

The arrest was the result of an alert First Bank employee who recognized Rehman from a flyer distributed to area banks by SLPD detectives.

Rehman is in the Fort Bend County jail with multiple bonds totaling $95,000.
