Sex offender back in jail

HOUSTON "Mr. Skiles, I'm Wayne Dolcefino with Channel 13. You wanna talk about the problem you have?" we asked.

I had a feeling it wouldn't be a long chat and it wasn't.

"Mr. Skiles, why are you running from us? Why are you running from us," we asked, as we chased after him. We knew why John Skiles was running. Because he's a pervert.

"It is a disgusting, revolting, obnoxious thing for someone to do," said State Representative Debbie Riddle.

Skiles had four convictions for indecent exposure. He even pleasured himself in front of one of his own neighbors.

"Every day, you live in fear," said one frightened neighbor, who didn't want to be identified.

In Texas, you can flash adult women time after time and it's never considered a felony. Eunius Johnson, has been convicted eight times.

"If you're in to this kind of crime, you'll usually keep doing it," said J.C. Mosier of the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office.

Judge Larry Standley reiterated that point, saying, "Whether they do it once or a thousand times, the most they can get is six months in jail."

However, our 13 Undercover video would make a difference. John Skiles claimed his address was in Wharton County at the Acorn Acres in Boling.

Its website said it used to be a nudist colony. That's where the DPS sex offender website showed Skiles living, but neighbors in Houston had given us pictures showing him at the scene of one of his crimes.

"When you see him, you freeze. You don't know whether he's going to come after you," said the frightened neighbor.

So we staked out the place to see it for ourselves.

"Mr. Skiles, do you think it's fair to your neighbors that you are still here?" we asked.

He could run from us, but not from the cops. Wharton County has now charged John Skiles with failing to register as a sex offender. That's a felony. He is in jail without bond.
