Student shot near campus bookstore dies

Middletown Mayor Sebastian Giuliano (joo-lee-AH'-noh) says a gunman walked into Broad Street Books on Wednesday and fired several times at a woman.

Wesleyan officials say police are looking for the shooter. The mayor says the shooting was not random and the public is not in danger.

Officials at the private college notified students and faculty members by e-mail, text and voice mail about the emergency.
