Six families lose homes to apartment fire

The flames broke out late last night at a complex on Wayforest near Richcrest. When crews arrived, flames were visible coming out of the second story. It took six volunteer fire departments to put out the fire.

The flames damaged four other units while others sustained smoke and water damage. Everyone inside made out safely.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
