"Its' not about people moving here to be next to other affluent people," Southlake Mayor Pro Tem John Terrell said Friday, citing its stellar schools and shopping, and proximity to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. "It's just a fabulous city to live in."
Two other Texas cities made the top 10 in the list released this week. The Dallas County community of University Park ranked No. 7 while Colleyville, located near Southlake, ranks No. 9.
Forbes based its findings on average median household income estimates that the U.S. Census bureau released Dec. 9. Forbes focused on communities with populations between 20,000 and 64,999 from 2005 to 2007.
