33 HISD campuses no longer participating in free lunch program

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Over 30 Houston ISD campuses will no longer automatically serve free breakfast and lunch to students in the upcoming school year, HISD announced.
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a federal program that provides free meals at schools with a large enrollment of low-income families.
This past school year, only seven schools were part of the program.
HISD released the following list of schools that will not participate in the CEP in the upcoming school year:
- Briarmeadow Charter School
- Harvard Elementary School
- Mandarin Immersion Magnet School
- Oak Forest Elementary School
- River Oaks Elementary School
- Roberts Elementary School
- Sinclair Elementary School
- West University Elementary School
- Wharton Elementary School
- Carnegie Vanguard High School
- DeBakey High School for Health Professions
- Energy Institute High School
- Houston Academy for International Studies
