The tunnel, which runs beneath the Houston Ship Channel, had been completely inundated by Hurricane Ike. It was shut down for several weeks after the storm and re-opened in late October after undergoing extensive repairs.
Officials say they still have some routine maintenance items to fix, so starting at midnight, the tunnel will be shut down again. It will reopen on Monday at 4am.
