McCain unleashed a blistering attack on his opponent as he resumed campaigning, saying Obama favors policies that "will deepen the recession."
McCain also said Obama stayed on the sidelines in recent days while Congress struggled to draft a bailout for the financial industry. At the same time, the Republican did not say definitively whether he would vote for or against the legislation coming to a vote this week.
McCain appeared with his running mate, Sarah Palin, who said she is looking forward to her debate with Democratic Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday.
