Man fatally shot in SUV in NE Houston

HOUSTON Shortly before 4:30pm Wednesday, a man identified by relatives as Erroll Paige, his wife and their 13-year-old daughter had just left his mother-in-law's house in northeast Houston when they stopped at a nearby convenience store. That's where they encountered a man in a silver Isuzu Rodeo. Words were apparently exchanged between both vehicles.

Paige's wife then drove away from the convenience store. She claims that silver Isuzu tried to run her vehicle off the road. She was so concerned about the situation that she was on her way to a nearby police substation.

As she entered the southbound lanes of the feeder road, the silver Isuzu Rodeo reportedly pulled up beside her car. The driver then allegedly rolled down the window and fired a shot into the passenger side window, hitting Paige in the chest. The 34-year-old victim later died at Ben Taub Hospital.

Gerald Anthony Davis, 22, was arrested without incident several hours after the shooting. He faces a murder charge.
