The driver of the car also crashed and was thrown onto the other side of the freeway. That driver was critically injured.
Eastbound and westbound lanes on the South Loop were closed for several hours. All lanes were reopened around 5:30am.
Wreck kills motorcyclist on S. Loop
HOUSTON It happened on the 610 South Loop near Broad early this morning. Investigators say a group of motorcycle riders was traveling on the freeway when one of them collided with a car. The rider crashed and was killed. Authorities say the victim wasn't wearing a helmet.
