Train derails near downtown Houston

HOUSTON Two cars on the eastbound train came off the tracks. They didn't topple over, but it appears the wheels of the train just came off. HPD says the train cars are empty and they didn't pose a threat to the surrounding community.

Police say at least one road was blocked for a couple of hours. The train cars are now back on the tracks. A crane was brought in to move the train cars with no wheels. Union Pacific officials wouldn't offer any comment on what caused the cars to derail.

This is a heavy industrial area so the nearby community wasn't affected. The good news is that the train cars weren't carrying anything toxic or dangerous.
